With the Benefits of Sedation Dentistry, Your Next Appointment Can Be Relaxing and Anxiety-Free!

If you’re terrified to go to the dentist but haven’t been seen in years, your problems will only compound. We’re proud to offer sedation options for our patients at all comfort levels. We understand that people often become anxious when sitting in the dental chair, ready to have some work done in their mouth.

Whether you are having a simple dental cleaning or a more complex dental restoration, our experienced team can help make this process easy and even enjoyable for you. Dr. Peter Kim, Dr. William Altig and Dr. Eric Gregg are pleased to offer our patients the comfort and convenience of nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation to ease their anxiety.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

This gaseous mixture is made from a blend of nitrogen and oxide to provide a calming, tranquil or euphoric feeling when you breathe it in normally. We just put the mask over your nose and turn on the flow. Laughing gas can help improve your experience so that the sights and sounds in the dental office don’t affect you adversely. This includes the treatment itself as well as the sounds and visuals of dental tools being used. All you have to do is sit back, inhale normally and enjoy feeling comfortable and peaceful during your treatment. Nitrous oxide can also safely be used on children and it wears off immediately when it is turned off. It a safe way to have a positive experience!

Oral Conscious Sedation

If you are someone who struggles with anxiety before you even arrive for your appointment, we have you covered! We can prescribe pills to take before your appointment which means you’ll need a friend or family member to drive you to and from your appointment. It works on both your body and mind so you feel calm and relaxed on the way. The pills help you face your fear of going to the dentist so you don’t feel worried at all. Instead, you’ll come down without the normal anxiety you might typically experience. You’ll also feel relaxed if we need to give you a local anesthetic before your treatment and you’ll stay awake during your treatment so that you can respond to our team’s instructions or questions. You may not remember everything while you were here as you won’t be stressed out and that is fine too.
